Today’s post is a video sermon from Dr. Barry Black, Chaplain of the United States Senate. It is titled, US Senate Chaplain Barry C Black Sermons: Sealed With a Kiss (Judas Betrayal of Jesus)
Dr. Barry Black is the 62nd Chaplain of the United States Senate. He became Senate Chaplain on 27th June 2003. He is the first-ever African American to assume the post of US Senate Chaplain. The Senate elected its first Chaplain in 1789.
Dr Barry C Black has written a book describing his rise from the tough inner-city ghettos of Baltimore to being the first African American Chief of Chaplains in the US Navy to now being the first African American US Senate chaplain. What a life and What a book! This excellent and uplifting book is titled, From The Hood To The Hill.
His prayers in the Senate gained national attention during the 16 day United States federal government shutdown of 2013. In one of his prayers during the opening of deliberations of the Senate, he prayed, “Save us from the madness. We acknowledge our transgressions, our shortcomings, our smugness, our selfishness, and our pride…Deliver us from the hypocrisy of attempting to sound reasonable while being unreasonable.”
US Senate Chaplain Barry C Black Sermons Video: Sealed With a Kiss (Judas Betrayal of Jesus)
In the video below Chaplain Barry Black preaches a sermon titled, “Sealed with a kiss” at Capitol Hill SDA Church in Washington DC on 11th August 2012. The sermon is based on Luke 22:47 where Judas betrays Jesus with a kiss.
Here was someone who had lived with Jesus for three years and still decided to betray him. And does not even hide it but does it openly with a kiss. What a betrayal!
